POLICE and Network Rail are patrolling one of Hull's busiest rail level crossings today.
A police camera van is parked up on the Spring Bank West crossing near Chanterlands Avenue.
Staff have also been issuing drivers waiting for trains to pass with safety leaflets following concerns over the behaviour of some motorists and pedestrians at the crossing.
Network Rail is urging drivers to stay safe at the crossing by:
Stopping when lights come on or alarm sounds.
Don't race to beat the barriers before they close
Ensure the exit is clear before crossing.
Network Rail also issues videos showing narrow escapes on crossings to try to show drivers, cyclists and pedestrians the potential dangers.
