PARENTS of pupils at two primary schools have been asked to ensure their children go straight home tonight following reports a 10-year-old boy was asked by a man to get into his car.
A text message sent to parents of pupils at Elloughton and North Cave schools states: "Children will be told to go straight home tonight due to an alleged incident that happened near North Cave Primary."
It is understood Elloughton also sent out the text because it is partnered with North Cave and wanted parents to be extra vigilant.
Contrary to reports, pupils at both schools have not been sent home early.
PCSO Greenfield has tweeted this afternoon: "North Cave school pupil reports pick up vehicle pulling up, 1555 hrs, Weds 17/09 & asking him to 'hop in'. Did you see anything?"
Humberside Police has asked the Mail to point out that the full circumstances of what happened, including the exact words the man is said to have used and his intent, has yet to be established.
It is understood the boy only told his mother about the incident this morning.
Anyone with information that could help police is asked to call 101.
