A man has been arrested after a woman was found with serious head injuries in Goole.Police were called to Broadway in the early hours of this morning, where they discovered the injured woman.
A man was arrested on suspicion of assault and taken to a police station in Scunthorpe. The woman remains in a critical condition.
A spokeswoman for Humberside Police said: "Humberside Police were called at 2.05am, to attend an incident on Broadway in Goole.
"A woman was at the scene and found with head injuries and required medical attention. She was taken by ambulance to Hull Royal Infirmary.
"A 37-year-old Goole man has been arrested in connection with the incident and taken to Scunthorpe Police station.
"The circumstances surrounding how the woman received her injuries are yet to be established and enquiries are ongoing.
"The woman is currently in a critical condition."
