If there is one word Jonathan Parker associates with the late Lynne Murphy-Bristowe, it is "fun".
The teacher and actress, who lost her battle against breast cancer last year, aged 50, was admired for her performances across the region.
"If I knew Lynne was going to be in a show, I knew there'd be a good performance," said Jonathan, who directed Lynne in productions including The Witches of Eastwick.
"I knew she'd be professional and I knew that we'd have a good laugh – I knew there would be fun.
"That's my big memory of her, that she was such fun to be around, whether that was in a show or seeing her in a pub.
"If Lynne was there, you knew it was going to be enjoyable."
Jonathan, who runs the Hull company One-Off Productions, has decided to celebrate Lynne's life in a fitting way.
This Sunday, he has organised a charity concert, To Lynne With Love, which will see groups and soloists take to the stage at Hull City Hall.
"As she was a teacher and performer, I thought this would be a nice way to celebrate her life and remember her," said Jonathan.
The performance will see acts including a One Off Choir and the cast of Richard Green Academy's Les Misérables, which was recently staged at Hull Truck Theatre, take to the stage.
Other performers range from students at the Northern Academy of Performing Arts, to the cast of a new production of Return To The Forbidden Planet.
Among the individuals and duos taking part are Georgina Garton, who will be performing a selection from her Gracie Fields tribute show, and Iain Thompson and Daniel Sproats, who will be staging a selection from their Flanders and Swann production.
Lynne taught at Hornsea and Cottingham schools, as well as the performing arts school Platform.
The production will see students from Hornsea staging a selection of numbers from their recent school production of Cabaret.
It was at Hornsea School where Jonathan first met Lynne during the late 1980s, when she taught him drama.
"We went on to became friends through various things we were involved in," said Jonathan.
"We both acted together, and directed each other in productions.
"Lynne was a good actress and she had a beautiful singing voice.
"When we staged Witches of Eastwick, which was very well received, she was wonderful in it."
Lynne appeared with companies including the Northern Theatre Company, Beverley Musical Theatre and Hessle Theatre Company.
"Whether people knew Lynne, or whether they had been taught by her, or had seen her in something, this is going to be a really nice show," Jonathan said.
"You don't have to have known her.
"It will be a great afternoon of entertainment that will raise money for charity."
Profits from the show will be split between Cancer Research, The Oncology Unit at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham, Macmillan Nurses and Dove House Hospice. To Lynne With LoveWhen: Sunday, 2pmWhere: Hull City Hall, Queen Victoria Square, HullTickets:£7-£8Call: 01482 300300
