First Hull Trains has achieved its highest-ever passenger satisfaction rating in a nationwide study.
A total of 96 per cent of the rail firm's customers were happy with the service it provided, according to the National Rail Passenger Survey.
The company, which links Hull with London, came out on top of the league table and satisfaction was 10 per cent better than the average score for long-distance operators.
Managing director Will Dunnett said: "Our performance this year has been excellent. We've improved the quality of service on board – exactly what our customers expect.
"We have a dedicated team who strive to make sure customers are looked after in a professional and friendly manner and that is reflected throughout these scores.
"We'd like to thank everyone for taking part in the surveys and for the feedback provided. It certainly shows that we're getting a lot of things right, but there is always room for improvement and this survey helps us to understand how we might do even better going forward."
