Our daily blog with the latest news, transfer rumours and gossip about Hull City in the Premier League.Like HDM Sport on Facebook or follow us on Twitter.UPDATED 1.45pm - Jake Livermore completes three-year deal at the Tigers, for an undisclosed record-fee. SO, what was the panic? Jake Livermore has finally signed the dotted line for the Tigers after a few days of stalling. Agreeing a club-record transfer believed to be in the region of £7m (and that fee could rise to £8m), Spurs fans had begun to wonder if Livermore would leave at all due to the delays. On the Spurs section of fansite VitalFootball, writer OxfordSpur had put doubt on whether the move would happen at all - all we know now is that the fear is over and City have got their man. "As both Spurs and Hull confirmed on Saturday that they had reached agreement over the sale of Jake Livermore, I notice there is still no confirmation that the player has actually signed," the blogger wrote. "Somehow I expected this, and as a result waited to post an article on the subject. Though Jake did well and even expressed a desire to join Hull City on a permanent deal, he is yet to do so, which begs the question over whether he is now also talking to other interested clubs, such as Crystal Palace? "Of course the fee is now established for any club to base a bid and that may well get other clubs in a position to talk to Jake and better Hull's personal terms to the player, whilst also being in a location that might suit the player more. "Now I have written this, there will be an almost immediate confirmation that he has agreed terms with Hull, but..."Lower league clubs swoop on ex Tigers stars ON TO other transfer news now, and Sheffield Wednesday have signed former Hull City winger Paul McElroy on a free transfer. Following his release from the Tigers, the 19-year-old Northern Ireland star joins the Championship side on a one-year deal having failed to play a first-team game for City. A predominantly left-sided player, McElroy can also be used at full-back. "I played in some trial games earlier this year and thankfully did well. Now I want to get a good pre-season in and break into the first team," he told BBC Sport. MEANWHILE Blackburn have boosted their promotion hopes with the signing of former Tigers striker Chris Brown. The 29-year-old was named Player of the Year for Doncaster last season but activated a release clause in his contract after Rovers were relegated from the Championship. And Blackburn, who are targeting promotion back to the Premier League next term, wasted no time in making him their first signing of the summer. Brown, who started his career at Sunderland, scored 23 goals in 97 appearances over three seasons for Donny. He scored one goal in 13 appearances whilst on loan at the Tigers in 2005.Rio takes a right royal pay-cut AND finally, Rio Ferdinand will reportedly take a 75% pay cut to continue his career at QPR, writes the Daily Star. The once world's most-expensive defender will now only be paid £50,000 a week according to the paper, rather than the £200,000 wage he was handed at Manchester United. Not bad though eh, Rio. City failed in a highly unlikely bid for the centre-back a couple of months ago when Steve Bruce joked about handing him a career lifeline. Ferdinand could even make his QPR debut against the Tigers on the opening day of the season at Loftus Road, so here's hoping he has an off day at the back.
