UPDATE: Hessle Road has now reopened.
Hessle Road in Hull has been closed following a crash between two vehicles this evening.
Police and ambulance crew are currently at the scene, close to the Gipsyville flyover.
A police spokesman said: "Humberside Police were called to Hessle Road this afternoon following a two-vehicle accident.
"Hessle Road is currently closed. Police and ambulance crew are at the scene. There are not thought to be any serious injuries at this stage and it is hoped the road will open shortly."
Police have asked motorists to try and avoid the area as traffic builds during rush hour.
