Stand-in crews have dealt with several minor call-outs during today's period of action so far.
Firefighters across East Yorkshire are striking today over changes to pensions schemes and retirement age.
Picket lines have been manned at stations throughout the region in the dispute's first 24-hour strike.
Industrial action began at 9am today and won't end until 9am tomorrow.
Humberside Fire and Rescue Service is being forced to provide a reduced emergency response service during the strike.
It has been a relatively quiet day so far. Crews have dealt with:
* Faulty alarm activation, Bricknell Avenue, west Hull
Kitchen fire in Kingfisher Close, Barton. No one injured and out prior to the arrival of firefighters.
* Kitchen fire (cooking unattended) in Burlington Road, Bridlington. No one injured and crews extinguished the fire.
* Small fire in the open, Beverley Road, Hull
Special service to assist woman with lock on mobility scooter in Manor Street, Bridlington.
The Fire Brigade Union (FBU) says the Government has stopped talks over pension changes which will see the retirement age rise to 60 years old.
Regional FBU chairman Rob Vaux, 34, said: "I joined my 30-year pension scheme at 22years and was due to retire at 52 years.
"I know the physical requirements of being a firefighter and you can't do it in your late 50s or at 60.
"There are no desk jobs available so, if you don't pass the fitness test, you'll be sacked and lose half your pension.
"We feel we are between a rock and a hard place."
Mr Vaux insists industrial action hasn't been taken lightly.
He said: "The pension changes are affecting everyone in the public sector but we are the last to strike.
"We started just striking for a couple of hours here and there to get the Government's attention but that hasn't worked.
"The vast majority of union members are on strike and 98 per cent of firefighters are in the FBU.
"We are not savage beasts and don't want to put lives at risk but we need to be listened to."
Mr Vaux says there has been a lot of public support.
He said: "People have been beeping in support and we have had a lot of support.
"We have had no negative comments from people and I think they accept the arguments we have put forward."
Further industrial action will take place on Saturday, June 21, from 10am until 5pm.
The fire service is urging businesses and residents to take steps to reduce the risk of fire prior to the next phase of industrial action.
