For more than 30 years, Ian Runcieman sang for the Hull Male Voice Choir – one of its longest- serving members.
Now, his fellow singers and the Hull Ladies Choir are joining forces to pay tribute to him after he lost his battle against cancer last year.
The choirs will sing some of Ian's favourite music at Derringham Bank Methodist Church on Saturday.
Reuben Hird, honorary secretary of the Hull Male Voice Choir, said: "Ian was with the choir for more than 30 years and was a long-time treasurer.
"He died in August. He was a lovely man."
Ian's widow, Pam, is the musical director of the Hull Ladies Choir, so it made sense to combine choirs for the event.
Hull Male Voice Choir will kick off the proceedings, followed by the Hull Ladies Choir in the first half of the concert.
They will then alternate in the second half, before coming together to sing at the end.
Mr Hird said: "We had a meeting to choose items to sing that were rather special to Ian.
"We want it to be a celebration.
"It will be two good choirs all together singing to remember a grand chap.
"There will be a mix of music – some classical and some not so classical."
Both choirs have a long history, with the Hull Ladies Choir formed in 1936 and the Hull Male Voice Choir celebrating its centenary in 2011.
Among the songs on Saturday will be the Hull Male Voice Choir's own arrangement of the Beatles' When I'm Sixty-Four.
The concert will be raising funds for the NHS East Riding and, in particular, the unit at Castle Hill Hospital, where Ian was treated.
Mr Hird said: "It is a chance for everyone who knew Ian to celebrate him.
"It is also a completely charitable concert."Hull Male Voice ChoirWhen: Saturday, from 7.30pm.
