Hull KR co-captain Travis Burns is hoping to avenge Hull FC's controversial match-winning try at last year's Magic Weekend with a win on Saturday evening.
Chris Green broke Robins hearts with his late score, but replays showed he was offside from Danny Houghton's high bomb.
Devastated by the injustice, Burns is keen to double their derby success this season with victory at the Etihad Stadium.
"Last year's disappointment will spur us on for sure," Burns told the Mail.
"We always look at last year as a turning point in our season in a good way.
"Everyone saw the call we got there, but we went on to win the next five games straight.
"We want to right the wrongs from last year, get the two points for our fans and send them home happy.
"There'll be a big crowd there in Manchester and all of our players have the derby on their list of games to tick off. We're one up at the moment and we'd love to make it two."
The Robins have failed to win since last month's 21-20 derby thriller, but Burns isn't too concerned with his side's scratchy form of late.
"Both sides are in a bit of bad form since the last derby. We haven't won since that day and Hull have lost their last two games," he said.
"Against Widnes, we were seven points up with ten minutes to go and we shouldn't have lost, and we could have won at Salford.
"We've probably given away three points in the last two weeks that we shouldn't have, but we want the two this weekend.
"It's different to the last derby as both teams were in good form beforehand. But as we know, it's all about whoever turns up on the day."
Declaring himself fit for the game, Burns was licking his lips at the prospect of playing.
"I've got a bit of a head knock but I should be fine for the weekend. Nobody wants to miss the derby," he added.
