Man stamped on after trying to calm women
SUTTON: Police are hunting a man who punched another to the ground and stamped on him when he tried to intervene in an argument between two women.
The 45-year-old victim needed hospital treatment after the assault outside The Ship Inn in Church Street.
He had been trying to calm the women down when he was attacked by another man outside the pub.
Police said the victim was punched to the ground by the man, who then stamped on his head and kicked him.
He suffered cuts to his head and body.
It happened at about 12.15am on July 27.

HORNSEA: Police are appealing for information after a mobility scooter was stolen.
The thief forced their way into a secure unit in a parking bay in Station Court, off Railway Street, and took the three-wheeled maroon scooter.
The theft happened between 5pm on September 7 and 7pm the following day.

BEVERLEY: Firefighters had to free a child after he became stuck in a bicycle lock.
The lock was around the boy's midriff when Humberside Fire and Rescue Service was called to New Walkergate at 5.25pm on Saturday.
Firefighters removed the lock using bolt croppers.
POCKLINGTON: A woman was treated by paramedics after a fire in her kitchen.
The blaze at the home in Wold Garth, off Burnby Lane, was caused by a plastic bowl on top of the cooker.
Emergency services were called to the house at 9.20am on Saturday.
The woman was suffering from smoke inhalation and was given oxygen by firefighters before an ambulance arrived.
EAST YORKS: Humberside Police are handing out Drink Aware packs to new students at Bishop Burton College this week.
At the Freshers' Fair on Thursday, neighbourhood officers based at Beverley Police Station will hand out 200 of the packs and offer help and advice.
The information includes a personal attack alarm, drink aware advice, anti-drink skinning stoppers and a wine, beer and spirits unit calculator glass.
