WIGAN Warriors prop Scott Taylor expects Hull FC to come at them with all guns blazing on Friday night.
The Super League fixture comes six days after the 22-year-old helped Wigan to a 16-0 Challenge Cup final win at Wembley at FC's expense.
Taylor knows Hull will want to make amends for their disappointing show and the prop is determined to make sure the Warriors win to keep alive their hopes of securing a home tie in the play-offs.
The top two sides are guaranteed a home tie and with two matches left to play Wigan are two points behind second-placed Warrington.
"I expect Hull to come out with all guns blazing," Taylor told the Mail.
"We know they will want to give themselves the best chance of a home tie in the play-offs.
"The situation is very close with teams around them as it is for us.
"A home tie in the play-offs would be great for us, but if we have to go to Warrington then so be it.
"We have to make sure the cup final win doesn't affect the way we train this week."
Taylor admits his achievement of becoming a Challenge Cup winner hasn't sunk in yet.
The former Hull KR and Skirlaugh Bulls prop was one of five Warriors players not to make an error in a match which saw Wigan become the first town or city to house the FA Cup and Challenge Cup at the same time.
Taylor, who is to donate one of his shirts to the Life For A Kid charity, was involved in 15 tackles and made 124 metres from 15 carries.
The only disappointment was not being able to share his special moment with his parents Kev and Julie immediately after the game.
"My dad had to drive back because my sister is heavily pregnant," Taylor said.
"And my mum had to get back to her coach so I didn't get to see either of them afterwards. I saw where they were sitting but they were too far away to speak to.
"My girlfriend Nikki was with them in the Club Wembley seats and I saw her when we all went up to see our friends and families still dressed in our kit.
"It's not sunk in yet and I don't know when it will.
"We were guests at Wigan Athletic's league game on Sunday before having our parade in front of 30,000 fans through Wigan on Monday.
"I got a message from my amateur coaches at Skirlaugh Steve Aldous and Paul Redfern congratulating me on my success saying all those hours training in the rain at Malet Lambert were worth it."
