HULL Kingston Rovers is looking to improve its fortunes both on and off the field after unveiling three new signings. Businessmen Antony Langley, Linton Brown and Malcolm Scott have joined club chairman Neil Hudgell, vice chairman Rob Crossland, chief executive Mike Smith and football director Phil Lowe on the Robins' board, with Colin Hutton remaining in his role as club president. The appointments will help the club increase its commercial and social appeal, according to Mr Hudgell. "Rob Crossland and I have made no secret of our desire to bring in new ideas and expertise to help take the club forward," he said. "The new directors have joined us to provide financial stability and open up new commercial and development opportunities. "From this position of stability, the club will be best placed to grasp all opportunities for success on and off the field." Mr Langley joins the club as financial director, having steered the Red and Whites through a detailed financial review over the past few months. His Beverley-based business, Teckno Developments, has been a long-standing sponsor of the Robins and he said he is delighted to be joining the board. He said: "The club is at an important stage in its proud history and a sustainable, long-term policy of financial security will allow it to be successful on the field, as well as playing its part in supporting the economic and social progress of east Hull and the region beyond." Linton Brown, the new director of commercial affairs, has joined the club after working in a similar role with Hull City and is relishing the new challenge. "I'm thrilled and delighted to be joining Hull Kingston Rovers and I am hugely looking forward to being part of a new era at the club," he said. "Hull KR is one of the great brands within rugby league circles and has a great tradition and history, alongside a loyal, passionate and proud fan base." Malcolm Scott completes the recruitment after being appointed as development director and will work to promote the Hull KR brand in the community. "The opportunity to help make MS3 Craven Park the immediate destination for entertainment, training and business support in east Hull is an exciting one," he said. "The club, the new development and Community Trust will support the local community even more as the benefits of the new regime become evident."
