HULL boxer Luke Campbell stepped inside the ring to spar with young fan Jack McKay today.
Jack won a competition to "take a pad" with Luke at a sporting event in East Park.
The 13-year-old was shown how to punch, footwork techniques and how to block an attack.
Luke, who this time last year took gold at the London 2012 Olympic Games, said: "I thought Jack was really good.
"He was showing some real potential - I think he could be a future star. There is definitely some potential there if he sticks with it."
Luke was in East Park as part of the Join In event, which saw sports clubs and community groups encouraging new volunteers, supporters and members.
Visitors to the park can try out a number of different of activities at Join In, which is running at the park's youth zone until 2pm today.
