WHEN the sun comes out the world seems a brighter and better place – and there's no doubting Hull KR is a great place to be at present, writes Charlie Mullan. It's hard to imagine a place where the sun is shining brighter than MS3 Craven Park at present as, just like the sun, they are at their hottest this year.
Taking a five-game winning streak into today's clash at Warrington, a victory will not only surely secure their play-off place, but also mark their best ever run in Super League.
Currently in sixth spot and well within reach of securing a home place in the play-offs, Rovers showed their intent to improve further next season when announcing the signing of former Australian international and St George-Illawarra prop Michael Weyman on a two-year deal.
Having appeared a club heading backwards at the start of the season, Rovers are now heading clearly in the right direction.
That has always been the focus for coach Craig Sandercock, and will continue to be so.
But given their current form, they go to the Halliwell Jones Stadium today knowing they have nothing to fear.
They have already beaten Tony Smith's side once this season and will be confident of a rare league double over the Wolves.
This could be the perfect time to face them as well, given they have the small matter of facing Hull in next weekend's Challenge Cup semi-final at Huddersfield.
Whether they have one eye on that game remains to be seen, but if they are distracted, Rovers are in the sort of form to punish them ruthlessly.
Win today, and I feel Sandercock's men have booked their play-off place.
From there, who knows?
They may even surpass the 35 points from 2009, when they finished fourth.
At the moment, don't rule anything out for the Robins, they are full of belief, confidence and togetherness.
