MAYNOR Figueroa has signed up for Hull City's Premier League return, penning a two-year deal with the Tigers this morning.
The 30-year-old defender is reunited with former boss Steve Bruce at the KC Stadium after leaving Wigan Athletic on a free transfer following relegation to the Championship.
Figueroa, who is comfortable playing either at left-back or as a left-sided centre-half, joins George Boyd as City's second new addition of the summer.
Bruce has been tracking the Honduran international since first making contact at the end of May. Personal talks were protracted but a two-year deal was struck following a final round of negotiations late last week.
Figueroa will provide valuable top-flight experience following five years at the DW Stadium.
Initially lured to England by then Wigan boss Bruce in 2008, he made almost 200 appearances for the Latics before being allowed to depart at the end of last season. Figueroa will team up with City for the start of pre-season training in three weeks time.
The defender told the club's official website: "I'm happy to be here and to be a part of the club. It is a big challenge for me, but it's certainly one I'm looking forward to.
"When the team were playing the final few games in the Championship, I paid close attention to the results because I wanted Steve Bruce to achieve promotion.
"I was happy for him to earn the success. He is a great manager, and I'm looking forward to working with him again.
"I watched the Cardiff game, and after the final whistle, I turned to my wife and said, 'Hull could be an option for me next year'."
