HE IS one of the country's top stylists, with salons all over the north.
Now a lucky youngster from Hull has had her hair styled by Nick Slorach, of Toni And Guy, as part of a surprise from the Hull Children's University.
Mr Slorach, whose network of Toni and Guy salons include Edinburgh, Newcastle and Hull, was at his Paragon Street business to meet Chantelle Bigby and her mum Tracy.
After having a tough few months, Chantelle has knuckled down in school and worked hard.
Her attendance has massively improved and, because of the huge strides she has made, staff at Hull Children's University decided to offer her the chance to get her hair done by a top stylist.
Mr Slorach is a big supporter of Hull Children's University, often raising money for the charity through running half-marathons and 10k races, as well as other challenges.
Dr John Buttrick, director of Hull Children's University, said: "This is a way for us to support any young child in the city who is busting a gut and making a real effort.
"This was a reward for all the hard work and effort she has put in.
"Chantelle has always been interested in hairdressing so as a reward she got to go to a top-class salon to be pampered and came away with a gorgeous haircut."
Dr Buttrick met Mr Slorach a decade ago when he went in for a cut.
Dr Buttrick said: "Nick was cutting my hair and he asked me what I did and I told him about the Children's University and he thought it was a great idea.
"He has been an avid supporter ever since, in many ways.
"He has helped us fundraise by running half-marathons, marathons and 10k races.
"He has also helped by putting on social events where he has had the whole of his staff available to help and support us.
"He is a great friend and loyal member of the Hull Children's University network of business support.
"It is great to be associated with such an international brand as Toni And Guy."
Hull Children's University is one of the city's best-loved charities.
For 16 years it has offered life chances to children that they may not normally have experienced.
More than 30,000 children have experienced modules the charity runs including trips to London, to the KC Stadium, to learn about wind turbines and to be astronauts for a day.
