HULL City owners Assem and Ehab Allam say they have complete faith in manager Steve Bruce's ability to keep them in the Premier League next season.

Bruce has been a revelation at the KC Stadium since the Allams chose him to replace Nick Barmby last summer, leading the Tigers to their first ever automatic promotion to the top flight.

Bruce was the first to admit "the hard work starts now" after Saturday's spectacular return to the Premier League.

But his owners say they have full confidence in their manager to ensure City's second spell in the top flight is a success.

"The reason for selecting Steve as manager was the fact we believed he would not only get us there, but also because we believed he could keep us there," said vice-chairman Ehab Allam.

"This is Steve's third promotion to the Premier League and he has done 10 years at the top level.

"He has the experience of getting clubs up and he has the experience of managing in the Premier League, so now we need to rely on his experience."

Whilst Bruce knows all about life in the Premier League, it will be new to the Allams, who saved the Tigers from a winding-up order after relegation to the Championship in 2010.

They have since ploughed £66m into the Tigers to pay off debts and rebuild under Bruce, making the return to the top possible.

Now they say a measured and sensible approach is needed to avoid the pitfalls of the club's previous spell at the top.

"We will all sit down together next week, ourselves and Steve, and discuss the summer, the transfer window and what is needed," added Ehab.

"Obviously, we want to give the club the best opportunity to stay up, as we would not have put this investment in if our intention wasn't just to make it there, but to stay there.

"It has to be planned, though, it has to be strategic. The first year will be tough, you can't expect it to be anything else.

"It's a tough league to step up to. The first season back is always going to be the toughest as we have seen with other clubs.

"It is not about just throwing money at the problem, though, you have to be sensible and make the right decisions.

"We believe Steve, as the football manager, is one person who is capable of making those right decisions."

"He has done a fantastic job and he was a great selection," added Assem Allam.

"Our relationship has always been first class, from day one.

"We have always said we run the club as a business. We have always done that in business.

"You appoint a manager and let them manage and that will continue with Steve next year."
