Two litterbugs who dumped furniture and rubbish on a popular tourist route through Hull city centre have been taken to court. Sonny Howell, 27, and Daniel Blake-Coates, also 27, dumped an old sofa and bags of rubbish on Hull's Fish Trail when they moved out of their flat. They were caught when Hull City Council received complaints about the large amount of rubbish littering the trail and officers discovered paperwork relating to the pair in the black bin bags. Howell and Blake-Coates, of Queens Court, Dock Street, were convicted at Hull Magistrates Court and given 12-month conditional discharges. They were also ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £15 victims surcharge. Councillor John Hewitt of Hull City Council said: "Most people in the city take pride in their community and it is disappointing that residents have chosen to leave rubbish looking unsightly." You can report anyone dumping rubbish by calling 01482 300300, emailing enviro.crime@hullcc.gov.uk or visiting your local customer service centre.
