The family of a man who has been missing for almost a week have made an emotional plea for information.
Stephen Sykes, 49, has not been seen since Wednesday and concerns are growing for his welfare.
During a press conference this afternoon, Stephen's dad Leslie Sykes urged his son to contact his family or the police.
He said: "This is totally out of character for Stephen to be away for this length of time.
"We are worried about Stephen's state of mind, he has been very depressed recently.
"Stephen, if you see this, please let us know you are safe and well.
"If you are not ready to come home I understand. But please contact the police, another family member or anyone who can let us know you are safe."
Mr Sykes has also asked for the public's helping in finding his son.
He said: "Please, I urge you to contact the police, if you think you have seen Stephen or anyone fitting his description, however, trivial you feel the information may be. It could be the lead required in finding him.
"I would also ask if everyone could check their garages, sheds and outbuildings, particularly in the west Hull area."
Stephen, who lives in the Priory Road and Wold Road area of west Hull, is 6ft 2ins, slim build with dark, receding hair. He was wearing a distinctive black jumper featuring a skull and crossbones and the words 'No Fear', blue jeans and white trainers.
Detective Chief Inspector Simon Walker, who is leading the investigation into his disappearance, said: "His family are extremely worried and so are the police.
"He lives with his dad and his brother and they, and the extended family, are all very worried and concerned.
"He is depressed and his mood and demeanour have dropped recently.
"I am appealing for members of the public, who are the eyes and ears of Humberside Police, to contact us if they have seen Stephen or know of his whereabouts."
Posters appealing for information about Mr Sykes' disappearance have been placed around the city centre.
Until December, Mr Sykes was employed at the Mercure Royal Hotel in Ferensway, city centre.
Since then, he has been working at the hotel on a casual basis.
Police said there was a potential sighting of Mr Sykes close to the hotel on Thursday.
Since then, officers have carried out searches around the hotel and at other areas in west Hull. Yesterday, officers carried out further investigations at his home.
Mr Sykes has not withdrawn any money from a bank account he shares with his brother, Craig.
He is known to have had £20 cash on him when he was last seen on Wednesday afternoon.
Anyone with information should contact Humberside police on 101.
