DANIEL Holdsworth is "anxious" to make his long-awaited return for Hull FC, according to his agent.
Holdsworth has not featured for Hull since the round seven defeat to Huddersfield Giants after suffering with the effects of a concussion picked up a month earlier in the round three game at St Helens.
With the 29-year-old Australian play-maker ruled out indefinitely since, fans have grown frustrated at seeing their star on the sidelines.
But according to his representative, Sam Ayoub, Holdsworth is feeling similarly frustrated after featuring in just five of Hull's 14 games so far this season.
"I recently spoke with Daniel and despite the fact that he is not sure of the length of his absence, he is certainly feeling better and is anxious to return," Ayoub told the Mail.
"Daniel is a thorough and committed professional and his absence from playing is no doubt causing himself as much angst and grief as it would be causing to anyone else, including the Hull FC fans."
Having trained in a modified way throughout his absence, the ex-Salford man has done light sessions and been kept away from contact work.
Now, Holdsworth could be in line to make his return against London Broncos this Friday, although Hull coach Peter Gentle is refusing to bank on the presence of his key stand-off until later in the week after several false dawns.
The situation has left some fans questioning whether there was more to Holdsworth's situation than concussion, with false rumours suggesting he'd suffered a more serious injury.
But Ayoub added: "Given Daniel's absence and the nature of his situation, I can understand the curiosity of fans and media.
"My clear understanding is that Daniel has ongoing and intense headaches resulting from serious concussion. The only cure is rest and avoidance of physical contact.
"We are all hoping for a quick but, more importantly, a full recovery."
