SPRING Bank West is blocked in both directions because of a level crossing failure.
The road is blocked in both directions from the Chanterlands Avenue junction to the Walton Street junction because the train barrier is stuck down.
Network Rail are on their way to the scene.
A spokeswoman said: "We believe it has been caused by wind damage, and apologise for any inconvenience."
