HULL KR coach Craig Sandercock believes half-back duo Travis Burns and Michael Dobson can become the 'heart and soul' of the club for the next few years.
Rovers have forced their way into Super League's top eight after winning both games in which the pair have played together.
It saw the Robins back up an impressive win over Warrington with another at London on Saturday, much to the delight of their coach.
Now, despite having only seen the pair play alongside each other twice, Sandercock is predicting a long and fruitful partnership for the duo.
"We have signed Travis long term so we hope Michael and Travis will be the heart and soul of this club for the next three or four years," he said.
"Two wins from two is a very good start – it would be good if we could get to 10 from 10.
"Travis is getting there. He is still a few weeks off being at the level I know he can be.
"He brings energy, competitiveness, mental toughness, communication and desire."
Having seen his side win back-to-back matches for the first time since last June, when they won four on the spin, Sandercock is hoping to see continued improvement from his side as they head to Bradford this Sunday.
But he admits his side are still a way off being at their very best, and says it is a case of taking 'small steps' forward as they look to shake off a below-par start to the season.
"There's no doubt we have a long long way to go before we are at our best, but we are making small steps," he said.
"The top sides set the benchmark and perform consistently year after year.
"We need to do better before we are at that level."
