A DENTAL practice manager who stole almost £25,000 over ten years has been ordered to pay all the money back.
Susan Codd, 52, was working as a practice manager at the Sutton Dental Practice in east Hull when she stole the money.
Codd was taken on by the family-run practice in 1999 but began stealing payments made to her by patients in 2002.
For ten years, she stole £24,839.90 from dentist Karl Sinclair before she was caught when the practice changed its computer system.
Under the Proceeds Of Crime Act, Codd has been ordered to sell her assets to repay the money she made through her crime.
Hull Crown Court heard Codd will have to sell her home or face a year behind bars.
The Honorary Recorder of Hull and the East Riding, Judge Michael Mettyear, said: "She has six months to pay and the default period is 12 months' imprisonment."
Codd was given a 12-month sentence, suspended for 12 months, and was ordered to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work.
She was responsible for collecting payments from customers. An audit by the firm was carried out, uncovering 500 patients' accounts had not been settled, according to the computer records, although their payments had been received.
Codd was arrested last March and admitted stealing the money from the practice.
Codd, of Arnold Lane West, Arnold, pleaded guilty to theft.
