It's the big question on a the lips of Labour supporters in Beverley. Will Hull East MP Karl Turner wear a kilt at the Labour Party's annual Burns Night fundraiser later this month?
The shadow attorney general is the guest speaker at the event.
But some are wondering whether he will turn up in a kilt, while others are questioning whether he is even qualified to do so being a Hull lad born and bred.
Labour activist George McManus, who hails from north of the border, tells me there are no set rules on the matter.
"There is a popular misconception that you can only wear a kilt if you're born in Scotland but it's not true," he said.
"The only qualifications, according to my wife, are a bit of courage and a good pair of legs."
So the final say on the most suitable attire for the occasion might rest with Karl's wife Leanne.
Let's hope she doesn't let him out of the house in the pyjamas she snapped him in on New Year's Eve, which she then shared on Twitter.
SCRUTINY councillors started the year in fine style by getting mixed up over where they were supposed to be having a meeting.
Half of the committee took their usual places around the table in Room 77 on the first floor of the Guildhall on Monday.
Meanwhile, downstairs in Room C1, the other half of the committee were doing likewise.
For a while, a stand-off ensued.
The 77 brigade were convinced they were in the right place, but the C1 crew were equally convinced they had turned up at the correct venue.
Eventually, the matter was resolved in traditional fashion with the arrival of tea and coffee in C1.
Cue a swift exit from 77.
• DENIS Healy's return to the political fray as the Lib Dem parliamentary candidate in Beverley and Holderness has triggered memories of his infamous tussle five years ago with Labour's Diana Johnson in Hull North in the last general election.
To say the pair didn't get on during the campaign is an understatement.
It eventually boiled over on election night in what might politely be described as a frank exchange of views on stage at the City Hall immediately after the result was announced.
Not since Big Daddy clashed with Giant Haystacks has so much animosity been seen at the famous old venue.
