HDM Sport on Facebook ANOTHER day of the transfer window, another new name to be thrown into the mix for Hull City. Speaking to Polish sports website Gwizdek 24, the father of Legia Warsaw's 20-year-old Slovakian international Ondrej Duda has stated City are one of a number of clubs interested in signing his son. The midfielder has been the subject of interest from Arsenal and Tottenham in the past and has a reported price tag of around £6m, although Duda Snr, who also acts as the player's agent, insists his client wouldn't be available until the summer window, making him a viable target for Steve Bruce. Speaking to the Polish website, Duda's father said: "My son has so many offers I do not even know. The representatives of AC Milan, Inter, Napoli, Hannover, FC Koln, Arsenal, Tottenham, Everton, Hull City, Stoke and even a couple of other teams they have contacted me. But everyone, I repeat, that if he leaves the Legia, it will be at the earliest summer." It would seem that the Tigers face some stiff competition for the Slovakian's signature and emerging with Duda's signature from that list would be something of a coup for City. City begin Defoe talks TRANSFER saga's are rarely without their twists and turns and the tale of Jermain Defoe's return to the Premier League took another twist this morning with reports suggesting Hull City are now in talks with the 32-year-old. Defoe touched down on UK soil this week to push through a move back to the English top flight from MLS side Toronto FC, and according to The Sun, talks have now started between the two parties over a possible deal. Of course, given the current financial stipulations that City find themselves subject to, the chances of a permanent deal being pushed through this month are remote. However with Steve Bruce hedging his bets when fielding questions over the former Tottenham striker, the prospect of seeing Defoe in Tigers' stripes before February is still very real. Quinn set to sign new Tigers deal BACK on the agenda after the hectic festive period, a number of contracts are still on the table and needing signatures at the KC Stadium. One of them has been offered to Stephen Quinn, and while the midfielder has yet to put pen to paper, the Daily Star reports that the Republic of Ireland international is ready to commit his future to the Tigers after a recent run of games in the first team. The red-top reports that Quinn has emerged as a key player as City continue in their attempts to steer clear of danger. The 28-year-old started the Boxing Day win over Sunderland before being sent off in the closing stages of the 1-0 defeat to Leicester City. He returned to action in the FA Cup against Arsenal at the weekend and City supporters should get used to seeing a lot more of him in amber and black as he prepares to sign on.
Oxley prolongs stay at Hibs GOALKEEPER Mark Oxley has extended his loan spell at Scottish Championship side Hibs. The 24-year-old, who has a wealth of experience with over 60 league appearances, was brought into the side at the beginning of the season and his improved, along with his team-mates, to help mount a promotion push back to the Scottish top flight. Extending his deal until the end of the season, Oxley told the Daily Record: "I'm delighted to be here until the end of the season– I've thoroughly enjoyed my time at Hibs so far, especially with our recent results. "All the hard work is starting to pay off and is showing with our results and I'm happy to be a part of it."Jack Barmby moves to Rotherham on loan HULL lad Jack Barmby has left Leicester City to join Rotherham. The former Manchester United youth player, who is the son of former Hull City favourite Nicky Barmby, will initially join the Millers on a one-month loan deal. The 20-year-old has yet to play a competitive game this season and will hope to add to his 17 first-team outings at Hartlepool he made while on loan at Victoria Park at the end of last season. Ben Arfa tops flops while Meyler ponders Real Madrid move! AND finally, it will come as no surprise to Hull City fans to learn that one of last summer's signings has found his way into the Daily Mail'stop 10 flops list. The less said about Hatem Ben Arfa's stay at the KC Stadium the better, and the paper agrees, describing the Frenchman as "a sulky troublemaker who often frustrates managers" – no doubt Steve Bruce will somewhat agree. And while Ben Arfa claims that he would have turned down the chance to sign for Real Madrid in favour of his move to Nice OGC, City's midfielder David Meyler has revealed his move to the Bernabeu is a lot more likely. Well, more likely than him ever taking a shining to reality TV series Celebrity Big Brother that is.There's more of a chance of me signing for Real Madrid than watching Celebrity Big Brother! ????
