A planning application has been submitted applying for permission to allow an Argos outlet to start trading within the Homebase DIY store, next to the Sainsbury's supermarket in Hessle.
The current consent for the Homebase store only allows for certain type of goods to be sold in the building.
If given the go-ahead, the Argos outlet would occupy five per cent of the available floorspace.
Last year, the catalogue retailer announced plans to open 20 new concessions in Homebase stores across the UK. Both are owned by the Home Retail Group.
