Hull City saw their development side lose 2-0 to a vastly-experienced Rotherham United reserves outfit this afternoon. The Millers were much more confident on home turf than in the reverse fixture back in September, where they lost 2-0, and took their chances when needed. Former Blackburn striker Matt Derbyshire opened the scoring on the half-hour mark following some fancy footwork to create an opening, and Jerry Yates scored just two minutes after the break with his first touch to kill the game off prematurely. The Tigers never gave up, though, with Johan Ter Horst and Will Annan coming close, whilst new signing Greg Luer looked promising in a 75-minute debut in the Final Third Development League. City will now travel to Hartlepool United in the League Cup next Wednesday afternoon as they look to get back to winning ways.
