A man tried to snatch a handbag from a woman as she put her shopping in the boot of her car.
It happened at about 3.30pm yesterday (Monday) at the car park near Curry's, on Bessingby Retail Park, Bridlington.
The 43-year-old woman had finished loading her shopping when a man came up behind her and tried to steal her bag.
He pushed her into the side of her car before leaving empty-handed in the direction of the nearby industrial estate.
The woman suffered minor injuries but did not need medical treatment.
The man is described as white, skinny, about 5ft 8ins tall and in his mid to late-twenties.
He had short brown hair and was wearing a grey beanie hat, a thick, waist-length, blue coat and blue jeans.
