Power cuts that affected more than 7,500 homes in west Hull, Anlaby and Willerby was caused by faults in the underground cabling network.
Three separate cuts hit a total of 7,756 properties on Sunday afternoon and evening, leaving some customers without electricity for more than three hours.
Norther Powergrid said more than 3,000 homes were affected shortly after 4pm in Willerby. Electricity was restored to the majority of customers within the hour.
Shortly before 5pm, more than 2,500 properties in the Plane Street area of west Hull lost power. Although services were restored for most houses within an hour, about 200 were without power until 8.18pm.
At 5.30pm, 1,927 houses lost power in Anlaby. This outage lasted only 15 minutes.
