HDM Sport on FacebookTOM Ince could yet rejoin Nottingham Forest next season – despite having only just been recalled from his loan spell by the Tigers earlier this week. The winger has found himself playing somewhat of a bit-part role at the City Ground under Stuart Pearce, but Steve Bruce was forced to bring Ince back to the KC Stadium as the Tigers injury concerns deepen. However, Pearce told the Nottingham Post that whilst he wouldn't expect the winger to return to Forest in January, he isn't ruling out a future return for him next season. "You can never say never in this game. If Tom is available in the future, we know we will have to work the loan market well in the future," Pearce said. "Perhaps it is a relationship we will look to rekindle in the future, you never know. "We wish him well and we are pleased he was able to come and join us. You never know, in the future, when he might join us again." Forest legend Garry Birtles says Ince's move just didn't quite work out for him. Now, where have we seen that before? *cough Hatem Ben Arfa cough* "When Tom Ince arrived at Nottingham Forest I don't mind admitting I thought it could be a match made in heaven," Birtles wrote in his Nottingham Post column. "Ince had set the Championship alight with Blackpool, but he never got near those standards in his loan spell at the City Ground, failing to make much of an impact in four starts. "Having not produced his best form, I don't think it will make much difference to Forest that he's gone back to Hull after being recalled early. "Sometimes these moves just don't work out as you expect them to. It might be because he didn't fit into the system, the dressing room, who knows?"Mers and Lawro tip Black Cats for victoryPAUL Merson, who watched the Tigers struggle in their 1-0 defeat to Swansea last time out, isn't tipping City to bounce back in the Boxing Day clash at Sunderland. Writing on his Sky Sports blog, 'Mers' is going for a 1-0 Black Cats victory – and points to a lack of confidence being City's downfall. "I've watched Hull a few times and it's difficult to see where they're going to win a game," he wrote. "I like Hull and think Steve Bruce is a good manager but they were really disappointing against Swansea and are very low on confidence. "Sunderland will be bouncing after their derby win and I expect them to get another three points against Hull." Meanwhile, BBC pundit Mark Lawrenson has gone for a 2-1 win to Gus Poyet's men – and largely agrees with Merson's previous comments. "Hull lost again, against Swansea, last time out and the second half of that game must have been really worrying for Tigers manager Steve Bruce. "Usually, he can rely on his teams to scrap, but there was no sign of that at all. "I would like to think that is down to a lack of confidence after going 10 games without a win. If it is, Bruce can turn that round and they will be OK, but they should be doing a lot better than they are."Ex-City boss Pearson slams Twitter trolls LEICESTER boss Nigel Pearson, who will come face to face with his former club Hull City at the KC Stadium on Sunday, has hit back at Twitter trolls who targeted Foxes man Paul Konchesky. The left-back was abused by fans after his wayward pass on Saturday allowed West Ham's Andy Carroll to open the scoring in the Hammers' 2-0 victory. Pearson, who has a history of fan backlash recently, slammed the internet critics in today's Daily Mirror: "We have to accept that people are going to be obnoxious at times. Do they call them trolls? Probably quite a good description. "I don't think it's particularly good for the game. In many ways it's an incentive for us to turn it around."Oxley keen to stay on at HibsMARK Oxley is keen to stay on at Hibernian for the rest of the campaign – if he can reach an agreement with Hull City. The goalkeeper has had a profitable time up at Easter Road throughout 2014, gaining some much needed minutes. Oxley's loan spell from the Tigers expires next month but he has told manager Alan Stubbs he is keen to stay in Edinburgh for the rest of the campaign. "I've spoken to the gaffer and he was happy for me to stay and I am more than happy to stay and play football because I am enjoying it," he told STV. "The club need to speak to Hull about it and come to some form of agreement but I think it is looking positive at the moment."Truce match – 100 years on AND finally, did you know? 100 years ago tomorrow – on the day of Christmas Truce – Hull City beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 5-1 in Division Two? There's a fantastic pull-out in today's Daily Express, with the full story of the famous football Truce match during the First World War in No Man's Land.
