SHOPPERS at Kingswood Retail Park were stuck in traffic for up to two hours today as the car park descended into chaos. Drivers said they were unable to leave the car park because of huge queues. Paul and Janet Vause, of Hornsea, came for some last minute Christmas shopping. Mr Vause said: "It has been bedlam in here. "There has been a lot of fighting for spaces. "I can't believe it. It's eased a little but it was really bad." The retired chartered surveyor, 56, and his wife, 63, a retired social worker, said they travelled for half an hour by car to get to the shopping centre. He said: "It has been very busy. We were quite surprised. "The roads were not too bad but we have found it a little chaotic in this car park and we were quite fortunate to find a space, but it was a bit of a lottery." Jennifer Nettleton, 50, of east Hull, said: "I don't come here very often, it was a one off just for Christmas. "It was slow near the roundabout. Maybe they need to think about diverting traffic. "It was horrendous and there is only one way in." Graham Richardson, 50, of Walkington, said: "It's pretty much what I would have expected. "It's going to be bad at this time on the year and, if you come out shopping on a Monday before Christmas, you've got to expect this."
