Christmas came early for sick children stuck in hospital when Super League stars paid them a visit and handed out presents.
Hull Kingston Rovers' team handed out teddies, toy cars, scarves and other gifts at Hull Royal Infirmary yesterday.
Each item had been donated by club coaches, players and staff.
Prop forward Jordan Cox, 22, said: "We're trying to spread some joy.
"The hospital is not the best place to stay over Christmas and the kids will miss Christmas dinner – nothing beats home cooking.
"When you give the kids teddies and see the smiles on their faces, it means everything. It makes you feel good.
"It's a tough period to spend in hospital. This shows we are a community club."
Loose forward Aaron Ollett, 22, said: "We've come along to visit the kids and to give them toys and to give them some company and, hopefully, they enjoyed it."
He said this is not the first time players have visited and donated presents to poorly children.
Mr Ollett said he almost ran out of mini rugby balls to give to the children.
"It's always good to see the kids and to give a little back," he added.
Fans' favourite Ben Cockayne, 31, said: "We just wanted to give some of the kids a Christmas treat.
"Some kids might not be home for Christmas so we have got them some gifts to cheer them up.
"It is a very nice gesture at this time of the year."
Eighteen-month-old IvyBeau Briers, who has been in hospital for three weeks, was given a teddy by the stars.
Her mother, Georgina Briers, 27, of east Hull, said: "I have not seen her smile like this all week.
"That is one happy little girl."
Ms Briers said her daughter has a rare spine infection.
She said: "Her face swelled up and doctors didn't know why."
The toddler is recovering from an operation she had on Saturday but could be in hospital over Christmas.
Ms Briers said: "Those rugby players are the nicest guys I have ever met.
"IvyBeau loved her presents and they even gave stuff for her twin brother.
"They were really nice and really good looking, too.
"I am going to be a Kingston Rovers fan."
