TRAIN services between Hull, Selby and Goole have returned to normal following an earlier broken down freight train at Brough. The broken down train stopped at the railway crossing in Skillings Lane this morning after the driver saw smoke coming from one of the wagons. The barrier at the crossing remained down until 2pm this afternoon for the freight train to be checked. Dozens of trains due to leave Hull were cancelled and replacement bus services were put on for passengers. Passengers due to travel on First Hull Trains services to London Kings Cross were taken by bus to Doncaster, before joining trains from there. Other services which had to be cancelled included the 12.39pm train to Manchester, the 12.57pm to Sheffield, the 1.15pm to York and the 1.25pm to Doncaster.
