HDM Sport on FacebookAaron Lennon? Lee Cattermole? Hull City transfer rumours gather pace as January inches closer With a matter of days to go before the transfer window opens, Steve Bruce will be hoping he can pick up a bargain or two in the January sales. The Daily Telegraph's Luke Edwards has neatly rounded up the Tigers' hopes and wishes for the transfer window, opening next month, stating that he expects some business at the KC Stadium. Speculating that the club would be willing to fund any purchase under £8m, Edwards suggests Aaron Lennon would be the dream signing for Steve Bruce, following the limited impact of Tom Ince and the disastrous loan spell of Hatem Ben Arfa. However he suggests that Udinese's box-to-box midfielder Emmanuel Agyemang Badu is a more likely acquisition, with Marseille Andre Ayew and Sunderland's Lee Cattermole also on the wish-list. While those are the players possibly moving to Hull this weekend, speculation is still rife that their could be movement out of the KC Stadium too. Even after being returned to the starting line up by Steve Bruce, Hull City's captain Curtis Davies is still the subject of transfer speculation. The 29-year-old was linked with Sunderland and Leicester City last week, and today the central defender has been linked with a move to Everton. Roberto Martinez's side climbed into the top half of the table last night after a 3-1 win over QPR, and according to the Daily Mirror, the Merseyside outfit have joined the chase for the City skipper. According to the paper, Davies has been left angry by the club's failure to extend his contract in the summer, a feeling intensified by his omission from the squad in recent weeks.Williams issues warning for SwansAshley Williams has warned that Swansea's trip to Hull City will be no easy task. Having suffered defeat at the hands of Spurs in the same manner to City, the Welsh side are still smarting from their 2-1 home defeat courtesy of a late Christian Eriksen winner. And the Swans skipper admitted that the loss was a difficult one to take, but stated that Garry Monk's side will need to be at their best to get their top half push back on track against Steve Bruce's side. He told the South Wales Evening Post:"The Tottenham defeat hurt. It was 1-1, done and dusted, but we came away with nothing. "We know we have to pick ourselves up at Hull, which is always a difficult place. "They are scrapping and sometimes when we've played against that type of team we have come up short, so the focus this week will be that we need to take care of business on Saturday and get points on the board, then have a good Christmas and New Year period. "It's so important going into January as you can find yourself in a completely different position compared to when you started Christmas depending on how things go."No Newcastle future for Ben ArfaHatem Ben Arfa's Premier League fate appears to have been sealed after Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew confirmed the player has no future at the club. Steve Bruce this week has confirmed that Hull City were looking to cut the midfielder's stay at the KC Stadium short in January after the 27-year-old failed spectacularly in producing the dazzling displays his ability promised. And Pardew stated in his press conference this morning ahead of Newcastle's League Cup quarter-final with Tottenham, that there is no place for him in the squad at St James' Park. When asked about the payer, the Newcastle boss replied bluntly: "He won't be coming back here, that's all I can say."
