LIAM Rosenior will open contract talks with Hull City in the coming weeks holding ambitions to see out the rest of his career at the KC Stadium.
Along with Paul McShane, Stephen Quinn and Alex Bruce, Rosenior has been told he will soon be offered the chance to remain with City beyond the end of his current deal which expires next summer.
The 30-year-old defender has been with the Tigers since arriving as a free agent in October 2010 and in his 152 appearances for the club he has been part of a famous rise out of the Championship and into European football.
Rosenior's fondness for City ensures he is keen to continue an "incredible" journey all the way through until the end of his playing days.
"I'm delighted that's what the manager has said," Rosenior told the Mail.
"When I first came I was on a three-month contract and now I'm in my fifth year. I've grown to love the club and I've got a fantastic relationship with everyone here.
"I was the Allams' first signing so everything that's happened from the takeover I'm proud to say I've been part of it.
"It's been incredible to see the club grow and I'd love to stay a part of that.
"There will be discussions of where I stand and hopefully I'll be able to make a decision from there.
"Ideally, I'd love to stay here for the rest of my career if that was possible."
Bruce has made no secret of his desire to reward City's most loyal servants, but the Tigers boss will also need to assure Rosenior he can win a regular place in his plans.
Despite featuring in all four of City's Europa League ties against Trencin and Lokeren, the former Fulham and Reading man has only started one of 11 Premier League games this season.
Rosenior's one and only chance to shine came in the 4-2 loss to Manchester City in September and a swap back to a 3-5-2 system has not worked in the full-back's favour.
Ahmed Elmohamdy has been an ever-present on the right flank, while left wing-back duties have been shared by Andy Robertson and Robbie Brady.
Bruce's preferences have caused frustration for Rosenior, but he remains certain that he can reclaim a prominent role in his manager's plans.
He added: "I don't want to be viewed as a squad player. I feel as though I've got a lot more value than that.
"I played more than 30 games last season and not many squad players play that many times.
"I want to play regular football here. It's rare in football you find a club where you're this happy.
"I feel as though the fans respect me, the manager does and it feels as though we're still going in the right direction.
"Sometimes you've got to be patient and that's where I am now. But when my chance comes I'll play to the standards I expect of myself and hopefully the rest will take care of itself.
"All I can do is make sure I'm professional about things so when the chance comes my fitness is right to step straight in."
