Organised by the Beverley Lions Club, the event relies on public donations. Last year, the fireworks cost upwards of £5,000, much of which was covered by the club's charity fund. Although the event itself is free, there will be a bucket collection on the Westwood and visitors are encouraged to donate as much as they can.

The event has raised thousands of pounds for charity in the past, including an £8,000 donation to the Smile Foundation for its latest project, Smile by the Sea. Smile by the Sea provides short UK breaks for people from Hull and East Yorkshire who are supported by a local registered charity, offering respite to families in difficult circumstances.
The event starts at 6pm and will include a traditional steam organ, refreshments such as a hog roast, mulled wine, burgers and hot dogs, and bygone era family games with prizes to be won.

A fire walk has been organised at the Crown in Holderness Road, starting at 7pm, with Netherton starting the event off with others being invited to follow. The walk will be in aid of Netherton's testimonial and local charity Life for a Kid.
Entertainment will be provided by Kings of Leon tribute act Kind of Leon. Burgers and hot dogs will be available and admission on the night costs £2 for adults and is free for under-16s. The annual event has been organised by North Bransholme Community Sports Forum. Last year, more than 3,500 people attended the event, outside the Dales Fitness Centre in Snowdon Way, and volunteers are being asked to come forward to help oversee car parking.
