FORMER Hull KR forward Richard Beaumont could be about to hang up his boots after leaving St Helens without playing a game.
The 26-year-old prop joined Saints on a two-year contract just 12 months ago, but struggled to shake off a groin injury and is expected to retire from the game.
Beaumont's plight is a remarkable turnaround in fortunes for a player whose stock was on the rise in 2013.
Having recovered from a broken leg in 2013, he went on to become a key player under Craig Sandercock, although he had suffered from a host of injury problems, including a back problem which threatened his career as far back as 2008.
