A FAMOUS Hull night spot is going under the hammer at an auction later this month.

Sharkeys Bar in George Street was a city centre favourite for decades before its closure.

Now the bar is for sale with a guide price of between £100,000 and £125,000.

It is one of a host of properties on offer, including several houses in the same east Hull street.

Tony Webber, director and auctioneer at vendor Eddisons, said: "This is an excellent catalogue offering investors a wide variety of stock at a range of guide prices.

"Our last auction generated proceeds of more than £6m and we have every reason to be optimistic about our forth- coming sale."

Sharkeys is empty at present and the property includes a top- floor manager's flat.

Auctioneers said it might suit a range of uses, instead of serving alcohol, if planners approve.

The residential property on offer in Hull includes two separate portfolios of five two-bedroom terraced houses in Crofton Avenue, off Egton Street, east Hull.

The first, which includes numbers one to five, have the potential to generate £20,880 a year when fully let.

Six to ten Crofton Avenue all have tenants, producing £21,120.

Each portfolio is worth between £175,000 and £200,000.

A set of three fully-let two- bedroom terraced houses is also up for grabs in Egton Street.

They produce £12,480 rent per year and are expected to sell for between £105,000 and £120,000.

Three further properties on the next row over, which will generate £13,200 when fully let, are available at the same guide price.

Two other tenanted semi- detached houses, 43 and 45 Egton Street, generate £9,120 a year and are being sold with a guide price of between £70,000 and £80,000.

The lots will be auctioned at Leeds United's Elland Road stadium on Thursday, October 23.

Other highlights include a partly-let retail unit and showroom in Hessle Road.

Its first floor is currently used as the Onegym, producing an annual rent of £25,000.

The guide price is £400,000 to £450,000.

In total, Eddisons has attracted 118 lots for its three-day sale. There will also be auctions in Manchester and London.
