Gareth Ellis has been granted a three-month testimonial by the RFL in recognition of his services to the game.
The 33-year-old Hull FC captain will celebrate his testimonial between January and April 2015, with the events starting with a testimonial game to be announced.
"It is an honour to be rewarded with an RFL Testimonial, to coincide with my four-year stay with Hull FC," said Ellis.
"The Committee will be staging only a handful of major events as I want to concentrate fully on my leadership as captain and performance level for the club."
Ellis started his career 15 years ago with Wakefield Wildcats, going on to play for Leeds Rhinos and Wests Tigers before arriving at Hull two years ago.
The second-row has also earned 23 caps for England and 18 caps for Great Britain in a stellar career.
