NEWCASTLE United boss Alan Pardew says his side must be prepared to face a cauldron of boos when they welcome Hull City tomorrow.

The under-fire Magpies boss is ready to face the music from angry supporters following Newcastle's poor start to the Premier League campaign.

The Toon were miserably beaten 4-0 at Southampton last week, a defeat which leaves them bottom of the pile after the opening four fixtures.

Pardew revealed that he had held talks with club owner Mike Ashley and that it was decided both would focus on the meeting with the Tigers – and nothing else. It'll be the first meeting with City since Pardew head-butted midfielder David Meyler.

"The environment for the players tomorrow will probably be as tough as it's ever been," admitted Pardew.

"Hull will try to take advantage of that. It has not been an easy week.

"I've spoken to the group about it and if we go behind in games we have to show a better spirit."

And speaking on his relationship with Ashley, Pardew said: "I had a long conversation with Mike Ashley on Sunday.

"We both agreed to focus on tomorrow and try to get a win for Newcastle United Football Club.

"I don't fear the game but Hull are a good side.

"But we have to show that our spirit is strong and I think we will do that."
