Scouts from the Tigers were present in Boro's win at Huddersfield on Saturday, according to Clubcall.com, when Reach did well to catch the eye of many. Premier League champions Manchester City, Liverpool, Burnley, West Ham, Stoke, Leicester, West Brom and QPR are also in the hunt for the former England under-20s wide man. Reach won a late penalty which helped the visitors clinch a 2-1 victory – before unsavoury scenes kicked off down the tunnel between the teams. The 21-year-old has started six Championship matches for Aitor Karanka's side so far this season as Boro look for a promotion push.Bruce backs Pardew to overcome Newcastle boo-boys TIGERS boss Steve Bruce has waded into the ongoing topic of under-fire Newcastle boss Alan Pardew. Bruce has been linked with the post at St James' Park by the national press over the past fortnight, but feels for his counterpart who he'll face on Saturday afternoon. Sympathetic for Pardew, Bruce says the Toon boss has handled himself in the correct manner amid mass protests from the club's supporters. "When you're under the hammer, you need a couple of results quickly," Bruce told talkSPORT. "It's an awful industry we're in when we get to that stage and we've all been there. "But Alan's handled himself remarkably well, but we've got to get a result and go from there. "Newcastle is where I was born and bred, and it's always a club that I look for because I supported them as a boy. "But when you've been in the game like I have for the past 35 years, your support of the club wades a bit. You've got to do the best for the club that employs you."Pardew orders Toon players to 'stand and deliver' ALAN Pardew has finally faced the media following his media blackout before and after the 4-0 defeat by Southampton – and admitted his side have to "stand up and deliver". He's likely to be the subject of demonstrations by angry fans demanding he is sacked, as he was last weekend in a dreadful loss. Pardew is in a run of just five victories in 25 games since January, with his winless team sitting bottom of the league. "This is a time to stand up and deliver, really," he told The Mirror. "Saturday is an important game for us because we've had a difficult start. "Even if we'd got a point (at Southampton) it would have been an okay start because I think we've had some tough games. But now we have a game at home where the pressure is really going to be on us. We have to deliver. "The worry is how many goals are we going to score? We need to find a formula which will get us some goals. We've spoken about how important making a good start against Hull is because that's something we haven't been doing."Huddlestone won't give up hope on EnglandTOM Huddlestone will 'never give up on England', if his recent interview is something to go by. The Tigers midfielder told talkSPORT he'd love to add to his four international caps following the recent retirements of stalwarts Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard. He told Drivetime: "Gerrard and Lampard are two players who have been in and around the England camp for over ten years and have been in every squad. "Their retirement has paved the way for the manager to try something new. "Unfortunately, I wasn't called up this time [for the Three Lions' recent friendlies and Euro 2016 qualifiers] but I'll never give up hope."Harper: Gutierrez blown away by Magpies fans support TIGERS keeper Steve Harper has revealed his close friend from Newcastle Jonas Gutierrez is overwhelmed with the show of love from the 'Toon Army' after being struck by testicular cancer. Gutierrez shocked the football world when he announced the news on Argentine TV earlier this week. But Harper says Newcastle fans will give his pal the warmest of welcomes when he returns to St James' Park. "Newcastle United fans are an intelligent bunch and love to see people in a black and white shirt playing with passion," he told the Chronicle. "I used to always say to new signings that the minimum that these fans expect is 100% and if they see you doing that they will always support you. Jonas was always one of them. "I remember the dark Tuesday nights in the Championship away from home and he was always considered a fantastic outlet for us because he was such an athlete. "He was a great carrier of the ball. When you were under pressure you could give it to him. He would get you up the pitch." Some sections of Toon fans will don Spiderman masks against City on Saturday to show support for the winger. And Harper added: "That will be fantastic. I'd always encourage the fans to offer their support to Jonas and I'm sure they will."City development squad off the mark AND finally, Hull City's development squad got their defence of the Final Third Development League – East Division title off to the best possible start with a 2-0 victory over Rotherham United. Jonathan Margetts' second-half brace sealed a comfortable win for the Tigers after a lively but goal-less first-half. Read the full match report here.
