A video has emerged of police bringing an end to a three-hour armed siege in east Hull on Friday evening. It shows a large group of officers breaking down the door of a house in Ellerby Grove, on the Preston Road estate, before bringing out a woman and pinning her to the ground. Police were called at about 3pm after reports of a woman being seen waving a knife in the streets. They cordoned off the road and a three-hour stand-off developed, watched by hundreds of local residents. In the video, which was posted on Facebook and has since been shared more than 1,000 times, crowds can be heard cheering as a woman is brought out of the terraced house just before 6pm. A clip is shown here:
The video posted on Facebook goes on to show officers bringing out a young child. According to residents, a woman had been involved in arguments with a number of people in the street and allegedly had a knife. One neighbour, who only gave her name as Amanda, said: "It was frightening. There were police officers everywhere. "There had been a loud argument in the street between the woman and another man. "The next thing police were everywhere and they were pointing guns at the house." Another resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said: "It is disgusting. We don't want this in our community." Several police vehicles and an ambulance attended the scene. It is not believed anyone was injured. A woman was arrested shortly before 6pm. The Mail is awaiting a comment from Humberside Police about the incident.
