A 74-year-old man had his wallet and house keys stolen when he was the target of a burglary in Hull.
The man was at home on Oldstead Avenue at 7pm on Wednesday when a young man knocked on his door asking if he could retrieve his football from the man's back garden.
The man agreed and left the caller alone at the front of his house while he retrieved the ball.
The following morning the 74-year-old discovered his wallet containing money and bank cards and house keys had gone missing from a side board near the front door.
The caller is described as a white man aged between 17 and 18 years old, 5ft 10ins tall with black curly hair.
The caller was with four other men of a similar age.
Police are urging people to be on their guard following the burglary and not let people they don't know into their house.
