Abel Hernandez and Hatem Ben Arfa should start for Hull City in an attacking line-up that also finds room for Nikica Jelavic, fans say.
When asked by the Mail to name their strongest City XI, supporters said new signings Ben Arfa, Hernandez and Mohamed Diame should all play.
That would mean £8m midfielder Jake Livermore dropping to the bench.
More than 1,400 people voted in the poll.
Top pick was the captain Curtis Davies, who was named in the teams of more than 95 per cent of participants.
Uruguayan striker Hernandez, signed from Palermo for £10m, was selected by 93 per cent of fans, while Tom Huddlestone was third on the team sheet, at 90 per cent.
It is perhaps indicative of the tough choices facing Steve Bruce that only one other player - Ben Arfa - was chosen by more than 80 per cent of voters.
Naturally, supporters will want to see how the new players bed in and a poll like this can only ever provide a snapshot of thinking, but it is interesting to see that the gap between the top 11 picks and the 12th (Gaston Ramirez) was a sizeable 27 per cent.
The early season form of Andy Robertson won him a starting berth, with 79 per cent of the vote.
Michael Dawson (79 per cent) and James Chester (76 per cent) also polled strongly, while Ahmed Elmohamady (71 per cent) and Nikica Jelavic (65 per cent) would also keep their regular starting places.
That would leave a straight scrap between Diame (65 per cent) and Livermore (62 per cent) for the final midfield place.
The first XI would appear to be best served by a 3-5-2 formation, although those fans who argue Ben Arfa is at his most dangerous from the wing may prefer a three-pronged attack.• For the purposes of the poll, we assumed Allan McGregor would start in goal and all outfield players were fit and available. The fans' Hull City XI: McGregor; Dawson, Davies, Chester; Elmohamady, Diame, Huddlestone, Ben Arfa, Robertson; Hernandez, Jelavic.
