A father of three from Hull who has been trapped in Iraq for seven months will soon be on his way home. Kristian Nicholson, 39 has been unable to leave the country since January when he was involved in a fatal car accident that claimed the life of another passenger. Today Kristian received a six month suspended sentence for his involvement in the crash, and he was assured that his passport will be returned shortly. Kristian said he is relieved to hear the news that he is coming home but he is still angry about how has been treated by local authorities. "It's all a bit surreal - they put me in a cage for four hours and made me feel like a murderer - I'm a criminal now." There has been increasing pressure on the UK government to help return Kristian to his family as the military situation in Iraq has worsened in the last few weeks. Islamic terrorists have been advancing towards the city of Erbil in Northern Iraq where Kristian has been living since the start of this year. Although it is not certain exactly when Kristian will be allowed to return to Hull, his family are hopeful that their painful ordeal will soon be over
