Sun comes out for Preston Road Carnival in east Hull

Hundreds of people have been enjoying a free music concert in east Hull today.

Preston Road Freedom Centre is holding its annual carnival today with 15 music acts entertaining the crowds. There are also stalls and children's fair rides

Organiser Tony Forrester, of the Freedom Centre, said: "The event has been running for around 12 years now, since Preston Road was regenerated.

"It is a free event and a way of saying thank you to the community for all its support.

"We have a a number of east Hull acts performing and we feel it is important to support them."

Dave and Vicky Norman helped organised the music.

Mr Norman said: "It's great to see so many different people come to the event.

"We have some fabulous acts and it has been a brilliant day."

The event, which sees the likes of the P45s, rock'n'roll band the Bobcats and girl trio Euphoria performing, will run until 8pm.
