Brentford have signed Hull City striker Nick Proschwitz on a free transfer.
Proschwitz, 27, has penned an initial 12-month contract, with the Bees having an option for a further two years.
The German cost £2.6m when he joined the Tigers from SC Paderborn 07 in summer 2012 and went on to score seven goals in 37 appearances.
However, Proschwitz never consistently proved he could make the Premier League grade and was shipped out to Barnsley last season.
He scored four times in 14 games as the Tykes fought a valiant, but fruitless battle against relegation.
The £14m outlay for Nikica Jelavic and Shane Long in January meant the writing was on the wall for Proschwitz, despite the summer departure of Matty Fryatt to Nottingham Forest.
