Police have released the names of the man and woman who were killed in a three-car crash on the A164.
The crash happened at Sunderlandwick, between Driffield and Hutton Cranswick, at around 1pm on Wednesday.
Walter Stevenson, 66, and Elizabeth Mallaby, 68, both from Bainton, a village six miles south-west of Driffield, died after their silver Nissan Micra collided with a red Chevrolet Kalos and a white Nissan Qashqia travelling in the opposite direction.
They both died at the scene.
A 65-year-old man, driving the Qashqia and a 67-year-old woman passenger both sustained serious, but not life threatening, injuries.
They remain at Hull Royal Infirmary.
The 69-year-old woman who was driving the Kalos was not injured.
