Hull-born singer Joe Longthorne has announced he is free of cancer following surgery.
Mr Longthorne, who was suffering from throat cancer, made the announcement in a video on his website.
Following a visit to his surgeon, Mr Longthorne said: "There's no sign of any more cancer in me. So that's a great thrill. What a chance to be able to say the cancer's gone now.
"It's just a question of rebuilding. My face for instance is (so swollen) I feel like I've got nine boiled eggs in my mouth.
"But seriously I'm feeling good. All the prayers and the cards and wishes you've been sending me are truly working, I really do believe that. Thanks a lot."
Mr Longthorne, who grew up in Hessle Road, beat leukaemia in 2006 after a bone marrow transplant. He announced in May this year how he had been diagnosed with throat cancer after a routine check-up.
The 58-year-old entertainer underwent a 12-hour operation on his throat at the beginning of July and has been recuperating at home in Blackpool.
However, he is determined to return to the stage on Sunday, when he will join pal Darren Day for a That's What Friends Are For concert, at Viva Cabaret Bar in Blackpool.
Mr Longthorne added: "Perhaps I might not be singing this time, but I'm going to be there. It's going to be a wonderful evening."
